Stanford University plans to offers a course for students who are interested in building on the Facebook business model and especially those students who are keen to open up their own businesses.

Students will be tutored on how to run a start up business while they help the biggest social media networking phenonmenon, Facebook, by builing new applications for them.  In an article on News24, Dave McClure, a tech entrepreneur and one of the instructors for the Facebook course says, "Facebook is more of a lab environment for figuring out how to build those start-ups." This is how he and a fellow instructor have decided to model the course for the classroom.

This course could ideally be seen as one way to take learning and education to the masses as the applications that will be built for Facebook will have a educational focus.
