The nominations are out for the 14th Annual South African Music Awards! Some of the finest artists are up for nominations and that means there's great music on the cards for you to check out if you're not familiar with South African music.

The SAMAs are looked forward to every year because they bring to light some of the fantastic and diverse musical talent SA has to offer. This year some of my favourite artists have been nominated in various categories and I thought I'd give you a quick overview of who they are and their particular music style to check out.

I thought it best to be a good blog citizen and mention that voting for the 2008 SA blog awards is underway with just a week and a half to go until showdown. Please go over to the site and cast your clicks for the best blogs in SA in 2007.

C'mon it'll be good practise before national elections next year.
