I was a contractor at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff for 8 months working as the Digital Content Manager. I assisted the marketing team with the development of a digital marketing strategy, conceptual ideation and implementation of internal communication campaigns, including events, management of the corporate website, intranet and social media channels.
I embarked on a holistic content strategy to make better use of stories across marketing channels to be more effective with the limited resources of the team. Collectively, a team of three managed 14 work streams simultaneously and to feed and nurture the external communications platforms, we had to be smart about how to roll out content across multiple channels to create awareness for the brand.
I wrote articles for company’s Intranet site that I then adapted for short form content for the social media platforms, and converted the digital content into long form for the quarterly released in-house magazine called Connect.
The copywriting project involved researching engineering projects that the company was involved in, attending events, interviewing stakeholders for quotes and information pertaining to the projects, and collating and getting publishing rights signed off for photographs that would be used alongside the articles. I also assisted the Head of Marketing & Communications to proofread the entire magazine before it headed off to the printers.
I used tutorials offered by the Global Marketing Team to learn the ins and outs of EPI Server, the CMS used for both the company’s website and Intranet. I uploaded content to both sites and maintained them for correct display of the articles.
I also created, compiled and maintained a quarterly Editorial Calendar that ensured timeous publishing of content across marketing channels and social networks.
